About Macquarie University

ASBHM2020 will be hosted at Macquarie University in level 3 of the newly built MUSE building. Macquarie is closely located to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay, along with a number of other tourist attractions. The MUSE building is a 10-15 minute walk from the Macquarie University Metro Rail Station with trains arriving every 5 minutes.

Transport

Train and Metro: This is the recommended mode of travel. Approx 60 minutes. Cost: approx. $20 (varies by time of day). Specific directions and costs can be found here: https://www.opal.com.au/

Taxi, Uber, and Bolt: 45-minutes to the conference venue. Cost of fare is: $80 – $160. Prices may vary by taxi company.

Parking
Pay-by-the-hour parking is available at Macquarie University. Click here for current cost of parking at Macquarie University. However, to minimise costs, it is strongly recommended to use public transport over driving.


Accommodation

Macquarie University also has accommodation on site at two venues: The MGSM Executive Hotel, and the Travelodge Hotel. Places are limited, so book early.

Meriton Suites – North Ryde

CONFERENCE DINNER

Chedi Thai

This year the conference dinner will be at Chedi Thai on the 6th of February at 7PM. For those wanting to travel in a group, we will be meeting out the front of Macquarie University station at 6PM. For $50, attendees will receive a 2-course banquet featuring a variety of Thai dishes. There will be dishes to accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free diets in addition to traditional Thai meals.

PEERS CONNECT SOCIAL NIGHT

TGI Fridays

Students and Early Career Researchers are invited to a social networking night at 7PM on the 5th of February at TGI Fridays Macquarie. This casual event gives students an opportunity to meet and network early in the conference. Attendees can order their food and drink at the bar and pay-as-you-go on the night.

TGI Fridays is located at the Macquarie Shopping Centre opposite the Macquarie University Campus. It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to the centre from the conference venue.
