Getting up and down the coast is easy thanks to the tram (called the G-link). It is a single line that runs all the way from Broadbeach South (where many of the listed hotels are) all the way to Gold Coast Hospital. There is a tram stop directly by the Crown Plaza (Florida Gardens) and a few minutes’ ride will get you to notable attractions. The tram line is in the middle of the Gold Coast Highway, there are many buses that have routes along the highway too.
The easiest way to pay is with a “Go-card” . The card costs $10, which is refundable on surrender. A “tap on-tap off” system operates and the card ensures fares are approximately one third cheaper than standard ones. It can be used on the trams, all trains and buses and will certainly save you money. Anyone arriving into Brisbane or Gold Coast airport may want to get a Go card beforehand anyway as it is valid throughout many zones in Queensland, including airport trains.
